is a word you'll hear a lot around DAAP, especially if you're a freshman or new to the College. However, what you may not here, is an explaination of what DAAPSpace
is and why
we use it. In fact, the uses for DAAPSpace
are twofold, as both an online resource and an online community.
DAAPSpace as a Resource
Many of DAAPSpaces functions are similar to that of Blackboard, it has a list of classes you're enrolled in, as well various Student Tools such as a Digital Dropbox and various online storage spaces. In the Courses panel on daapspace, you can stay up to date with your professors and classes. It can be used to post announcements for classes, display project and course information (such as the syllabus). Projects can also be submitted to your professor via DAAPSpace by using the aforementioned Digital Dropbox. Since DAAPSpace and Blackboard have many overlapping features, professors tend to use one or the other for class-related materials. It is up to the professor which one they use.
DAAPSpace is not just a fancy class-list however, it also has important resources such as:
DAAPSpace as a Community
DAAPSpace is not just an extension of the classroom, it is also a community site for students enrolled in DAAP. For example, under the Organizations tab you can find a multitude of links for Student Activities and Organizations specifically related to DAAP.
Also present is the News and Info tab, under which new information and news regarding DAAP are posted. Keep yourself up to date by visiting this section often. This tab also has helpful links to things related to Student Affairs
, Faculty Affairs
, Co-op Materials
Finally, and along the same lines as the Shared folder, there is both online Student
galleries available on DAAPSpace. These can be browsed by any user, and you can even submit your own work to keep the gallery growing.
